In other news, Taylor Deupree also has a new release on the “Room 40” imprint. “Landing” is a 3’’ Mini disc with material just around the 20-minute mark, yet its effect has already been impressive. Featuring subtle strokes of acoustic guitar, the label introduced the small format publication as “another vision of subtle shifting audio” and “a progression from the full-length Northern” (out on Deupree’s own 12 label). The critics unanimously agreed. Textura claimed it was “lovely and warm”, while Frans de Waard of “Vital Weekly” dubbed it a “perfect showcase for his music”. With just 500 copies available, you’ll have to be quick to snap this one up. The same goes for “Extract”, a 2disc compilation with an accompanying book (or vice versa) surveying the minimal scene, which we already mentioned previously and to which Taylor Deupree has contributed the track “Live in Osaka”, as well as... you guessed it: Photographs!
Stay tuned on more news as Deupree prepares a string of new CDs on 12K and Line, including one of his own personal heroes, Giuseppe Ielasi.
