State-X New Forms Festival 2008: Entertaining and Eclectic

img  Tobias
The State-X New Forms 2008 is not just about bunching a lot of experimental artists together in one place, however. Instead, the festival has always sought to build increased awareness for music which would usually fall underneath the medial radar and to establish a dialogue between the supposed mainstream canon and underground activities. The line-up once again suggests that both sides could profit from communicating and exchanging ideas, sporting several artists who have not only risen to the status of insider legends but also pioneered commercially viable sounds and formats.

Included on the bill of the State-X New Forms Festival 2008 are electronica mainstays Black Dog, Drone-Blues crooner Ignatz, Mass-Guitar conductor Rhys Chatham, Folk singer Jack Rose next to featuring another gig by HipHop/Jazz/Rockabilly-band Red Snapper after their surprise return last year.
