Review/ Gorod: "Process of a new decline"

img  Tobias

Seems like something is growing around Bordeaux, not only grapes and a good football team but also some high level metal bands. Gorod´s band members aren´t newcomers and could almost be referred to as oldtruckers on the music scene. After practicing under the moniker Gorgasm, and after a few line-up changes, they've built us an enjoyable „Process of a new decline“.

As usual with lots of french bands, the bass sounds really groovy and plays an important role throughout the album; „Rebirth of senses“ & „The path“ are perfect examples. The production is a real blast, 11 tracks blowing out your ears.

Gorod sound a bit like Gurkkas - but they're both much more technical and much more melodic.
