2009 Tribeca New Music Festival

(From the page of the NY Arts Ensemble) June 4 through 7 at the Flea Theater in NYC. The New York Art Ensemble is pleased to announce it's eighth annual Tribeca New Music Festival, a 4-concert series of cutting-edge new music to be performed at the Flea Theater in NYC. Performing on the series will be the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), Anti-Depressant, and the Monsters--the New York Art Ensemble core players. Composers include Eve Beglarian, Caleb Burhans, DBR, Emanuele de Raymondi, Nick Didkovsky, Alexandra du Bois, Jefferson Friedman, Roy Harris, Gregor Huebner, Susie Ibarra, Caroline Mallonée, Matt Marks, Paula Mathussen, Missy Mazolli, Marc Mellits, Eric Moe, Nico Muhly, Padma Newsome, Ryan Streber, Jacob TV, Randall Woolf, and 2009 Young Composer

This year's Tribeca New Music Festival opens with one of the most important new groups in NYC, the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME), performing works from an exciting generation of emerging composers who are making their mark on today’s new music scene. In 2004 the American Contemporary Music Ensemble (ACME) was founded and is led by cellist Clarice Jensen. The group is dedicated to the outstanding performance of masterworks from the 20th and 21st centuries in programs that are both avant-garde and archetypal. Ms. Jensen will work with violinists Miranda Cuckson and Benjamin Russell, along with violist Nadia Sirota and flutist Kelli Kathman.
